Ylira Pimentel-Diaz is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a Bachelor in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts-Boston (UMB), a Master in Social Work and a Certificate in Child & Adolescent Trauma, both from Simmons College (Boston, MA). LICSW licensure provides that clinical social workers have completed the necessary coursework, supervised experience, passed a national written exam, and a jurisprudence examination given by the Massachusetts Board of Social Workers. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and Massachusetts Association for Psychoanalytic Psychology (MAPP) where she continues to seek out opportunities for professional development.
After 4 years working in early childhood education as a preschool teacher and elementary school age after school and summer program lead, she has spent over a decade in behavioral health working with children, adolescents, and adults through various roles and facility types including residential, in-home, and outpatient agencies and clinics in several diverse communities within the Boston metro area. As a Clinical Social Worker at Massachusetts General Hospital’s (MGH) Chelsea HealthCare Center, she delivered individual, family and play therapy, and crisis intervention to children, adolescents, and adults http://www.massgeneral.org/psychiatry/services/chelsea_about.aspx. Ylira has an eclectic yet individually tailored approach to help clients manage and treat depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, PTSD, substance abuse, and challenges in relationships, education, and other life areas.
